NetScout Helps Telcos and Cable Operators Monetize Network Upgrades

Key Highlights

  • NetScout is helping telcos and cable operators monetize their network upgrades by ensuring their investments in new technologies pay off.
  • NetScout’s assurance and security products leverage metadata for business analytics, automation, and identifying protection bottlenecks to help operators identify the main outliers in the network and main problems and filter out unnecessary events.

NetScout, a provider of application performance management and network security products, is helping telcos and cable operators to monetize their network upgrades. According to Vikram Saksena, Chief Solutions Architect in NetScout’s CTO Office, growing broadband penetration in North America is increasingly difficult, with subscriber gains alone.

Operators invest billions of dollars in infrastructure upgrades, including DOCSIS 4.0, distributed access architecture (DAA), and other technologies to overcome this challenge.

NetScout’s Role In Network Infrastructure Upgrades

NetScout’s role is to ensure that the companies get their money’s worth from these investments. Without reliable and high-quality network infrastructure, customers will not buy new services, and operators will not get a return on their investments.

With upgraded networks, cable companies can introduce new services for existing subscribers and target small and mid-sized businesses requiring more bandwidth for cloud-based applications.

NetScout has two primary categories of product offerings:

  1. Assurance
  2. Security

NetScout uses its Adaptive Session Intelligence (ASI) technology to capture packets and extract metadata to determine which applications are running on the network, their performance, and other components. NetScout also leverages metadata for business analytics, automation, and identifying protection bottlenecks.

NetScout’s automation tools help operators identify the main outliers in the network and main problems and filter out unnecessary events. Saksena explains that customers do not want to see data that creates false alarms but must be alerted to the important events that impact network performance.

NetScout’s Contribution to Top-Line Growth

NetScout’s products and services help telcos and cable operators to better monetize their infrastructure network upgrades, increase their addressable market and grow top-line growth.

NetScout helps companies ensure that their investments in new technologies pay off by delivering high-quality, reliable services that meet customer needs.
