The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has decided to start with the exploration of metaverse technology. The country is in steps to launch the world’s first hospital with metaverse technology. Patients will be able to visit this hospital as avatars for consultation.
The digital facility for the same will be headed by an international business conglomerate, Thumbay Group, and will be operational by October. The UAE is expecting to boost medical tourism in the country with the launch of this medical metaverse.

As per the BTCPlayers report, the authorities governing the healthcare sector of UAE have hired a company to train the selected doctors to treat patients in the virtual environment. The fee-charging structure is not yet decided for this medical metaverse but is expected to align with the telephonic consultation charges.
Thumbay group will be integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual Reality (VR), and Augmented Reality (AR) to make the metaverse experience detailed and alluring for the patients. The market opportunity for the metaverse is expected to reach $800 billion by 2024, as per the research reports.
UAE Adopts Metaverse In Other Sectors
UAE is speeding up its efforts to become the early adopters of this virtual world scenario. Emirates Airlines of UAE has also announced its entry into the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) sectors in April.
Dubai’s recently formed Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA) officially began work on its metaverse presence in the month of May. VARA, partnered with a metaverse player, The Sandbox, has disclosed plans to create a virtual headquarter in the digital world. This VARA office in The Sandbox is named ‘MetaHQ.’
