SJW Logistics: Simplifying Logistics for Businesses

Finding the right logistics partner is critical to the success of any e-Commerce company. More than anything, trust plays a very significant role here because e-e-Commerce companies officially hand over their products to the third-party logistics company to ship it to their customers. Any mistake in packaging, delivery date, and delivering the product intact, would mean that customers lose faith in the company. Therefore, a third-party logistics company should be more than just a third-party logistics company to the e-Commerce company. They should be like an extension of an e-Commerce company. They should be able to treat a company’s product as their own.

SJW Logistics does exactly just that.

Based out of Georgia, SJW Logistics was founded by Seretha Willingham in the year 2020. As a 3PL company, SJW offers everything from freight transportation, warehousing and e-Commerce order fulfilment services. The company’s most valuable service offering is its “one invoice model” through which it provides all its services—fleet transportation, freight brokerage, warehousing, pallet storage and order fulfilment services—to a customer on a single invoice.

Notably, SJW Logistics addresses many of the hassles faced by small and medium business owners and helps them grow and scale their businesses. Oftentimes, many businesses find it difficult to outsource their logistics to a 3PL company because they require businesses to pay high set up fees and sign a full year contract agreement. On top of that, almost all 3PL companies have a minimum order requirement, which makes it next to impossible for many small businesses to work with them as their order flow would be mostly unstable. SJW Logistics kicks all these pain points out of the wayby ensuring there is no minimum order requirement, no need for bonds or contracts and zero setup fee. “We eliminate the fear with our no set up fees and no minimum orders to give our customers time to make sales before their first invoice is due,” says Seretha Willingham, Founder and CEO of SJW Logistics.

Yet another factor that sets SJW Logistics apart from others in the industry is its highly competitive rates. Exorbitant shipping fee charged by most logistics companies not only leave business owners with thin margin profits and but also frustrates the downstream customers. Fearing this, business owners try to handle the logistics part by themselves and ultimately end up wasting their time and money, when they should be focusing on marketing their business. Despite having great products and doing really well with online e-commerce sales, they get stuck into the day-to-day operations versus focusing on the things they do best. SJW Logistics tackles this problem by ensuring that the prices are reasonable so that clients can save money, keep their downstream customers happy, and gain a competitive edge over other competitors. “At SJW Logistics we pride ourselves in showing those business owners that we can handle the logistics at a reasonable price,” explains Seretha.

Over the years, SJW Logistics has grown swiftly from a small trucking fleet of 5 trucks to a company with 12 trucks within the first six months of leadership. In 2021, the company opened a 22,000 sq. ft warehouse making SJW Logistics a full-service 3PL with multiple service offerings for their clients. This exponential success of SJW Logistics can be attributed to the phenomenal leadership skills and experience of its Founder and CEO, Seretha, whose corporate career spans from financial data analysis to project management of information technology systems along with strategic planning and execution. This experience has allowed her to take on Entrepreneurship in a fast-growing Logistics and Transportation Industry.

With a strong value proposition in place, SJW Logistics has scripted numerous success stories for its clients in these years. Recently, a customer’s warehousing freight was stuck in a port and she couldn’t find any carriers. Later when she did find one after a lot of struggle, they demanded steep rates. This was when SJW Logistics intervened and agreed to pickup her freight to deliver to SJW warehouse for a reasonable price. Ever since that incident, the customer has partnered with SJW Logistics for her entire logistics operations.

In one such incident, when a customer had the opportunity to sell his products in Target but couldn’t afford the transportation and logistics costs, he reached out to SJW Logistics. Upon talking to him, SJW Logistics understood his situation and gave him an affordable rate along with net 30 terms so he could pay the company once he was paid. Because of this timely help, he was able to deliver his products to multiple targets in a short period of time.

The future looks bright for SJW Logistics, which aims to expand its warehousing and grow its trucking fleet in the upcoming years. At the moment, it is also in the process of adding some global service offerings in 2023. With the vision to be known as a third-party logistics company that creates sustainable solution, and a stellar team in place, SJW Logistics is all set to redefine the future of Logistics.
