NetApp introduced a digital wallet as a part of its enhanced data services for NetApp Cloud Manager. It allows customers to track the usage of data service licenses across a hybrid cloud, with prepayment of credits available. That includes NetApp’s Keystone Flex subscription service, which sells hardware on a consumption model.
NetApp Keystone Flex is a storage-as-a-service offering with native cloud integration. NetApp is providing a new freemium service tier for Cloud Volumes ONTAP for smaller customers who require less than 500 GB of storage.
NetApp Acquires CloudChekr
NetApp has also announced the acquisition of CloudCheckr, which will become part of the Spot product line. Spot by NetApp lets customers optimize their Kubernetes workloads with cloud providers, with a view on expenses.
CloudCheckr builds the application, working with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform to ensure customers track spending, project future billing, and plan resource usage.

Earlier this month, Google unveiled that NetApp would serve as the primary data and storage vendor for its new Google Distributed Cloud Hosted offering. It also promoted the integration of Google Cloud VMware Engine with NetApp Cloud Volumes Service support for VM data stores.
Google has also collaborated with Spot by NetApp to help companies take full advantage of the recently announced Google Spot VMs. It allows Google Cloud customers to optimize performance, cost, and availability continuously via Spot.
Last month, NetApp and AWS announced the general availability of Amazon FSx for NetApp ONTAP. This new storage service lets customers launch and runs managed NetApp ONTAP file systems in the cloud.
