The tech giant Microsoft is looking to improve Android gaming compatibility on Windows 11. In a post, Microsoft announced the release of the latest preview build of the Android subsystem for Windows OS.
The new subsystem version is 2206.40000.15.0, and it will not only add compatibility improvements for Android gaming but also include other quality improvements such as networking, reliability, and windowing improvements.
The novel preview is available now in all insider channels of Windows in the United States. Microsoft has not shared any details yet on the availability of the new update to regular users. It also indicated that there might be an issue running Android applications. Users can share their feedback on the issues with the Windows Subsystem for Android.
Known Issues By Microsoft
While running android apps on VPN, users can disable advanced networking in the Windows subsystem for the Android Settings app if they face network connectivity issues. It was also mentioned that a few VPNs don’t support Advanced Networking.
Android Gaming Improvements In The New Preview Build
Microsoft has added a new suite of shims that allows testers to toggle in the Windows subsystem for the Android Settings app. This change is expected to improve various experiences in most applications.
The new preview build adds android gaming features such as support for gamepads enabling arrow keys for targeting & sliding and compatibility of gaming with joysticks.
The new preview build will also improve networking, scrolling, graphics and security. In the default setting on the new build, the minimum window size of Android apps will be set to 220dp and show a better dialog on detecting unsupported VPNs.
