McDonald’s and Burger King are being sued for use of harmful packaging

According to a lawsuit filed in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida on Monday. The suit, which was filed by the attorneys general of Illinois and Washington, alleges that the companies used “forever chemicals” including BPA and phthalates in their food packaging, and that the companies have failed to take adequate steps to warn consumers of the chemicals’ dangers.

At Mcdonald’s, the most significant levels of synthetic substances were found in the sacks for fries, treats and Chicken McNuggets and the Big Mac holder.
